Boudoir Photographs
My mission is to give every woman a set of elegant boudoir photographs that are unique, sexy and beautiful. I will capture this in a way that is tasteful, classy, elegant, visually stunning and sometimes edgy. It is my feeling that every woman wants to be sexy. While that means something different to everyone, the desire to look, feel and be sensual is natural to every woman. Why not give him a "Remember When…" moment that he can never forget!!

There are many reasons women have boudoir photographs taken. Some do it just for themselves, some to feel desirable others want to feel like a model or a playmate. Some do it for their lovers, knowing this visual and very personal gift makes for among the most special gifts a woman can give - a small taste of what is waiting underneath. Whatever the reason, we provide this specialized service sensitively, respectfully, and skillfully because it is about feeling comfortable with your photographer. I am a woman first and a photographer second. There simply is a comfort level because of that combination that I hope will make you feel at ease.

"Boudoir," is a French word that means "to sulk or pout" and can also refer to a woman's private sitting room, bedroom or dressing room or private sitting room. All of which can lead to thoughts of beautiful things like the smell of sweet perfumes, flickering candles, and the object of his desire inside, preparing delicately for something wonderful that is about to happen. If this sounds sexy, it's because it is supposed to be. It's not all about boas and overdone make-up, this is for you; you at your best and feeling sexy while creating wonderful images to capture your state of being. These are perfect "for his eyes only" wedding day gifts for a groom, but you don't need to be a bride to do this. You can do boudoir photography even if you have been married for many years as an anniversary, birthday or just because. It can also be an exciting "just for ME" moment.

Location

With boudoir photography many women feel most comfortable in their own home for this type of shoot. Others prefer a studio environment. Still others have a wild side and dare to shoot "in the field", meaning a relatively safe and secure location lending a special sense of freedom and beauty to the images. Such as fields, old barns, streams and lakes, etc. I can accommodate any of these interests and preferences. I even have access to an old school that would be perfect for a naughty school girl or teacher shoot.

Attire

Boudoir Photography is usually taken wearing lingerie, underwear and other revealing outfits. It can also be taken as implied nudes, which is most common, where you're nude but nothing is showing, for example, covering the breasts with hands or shots from the back. The illusion of being nude is more often provocative than actually seeing someone naked. It can take many forms depending on your level of comfort or personality. Make it playful or sultry, subtle or shy, or just let it happen. If you have an idea of what you're looking for, I will strive to provide that special image. You can wear a man's shirt, a towel or just a blanket. You can also wear jewelry, high heels, stilettos, stockings and other things that you find sexy. Lingerie of course is a consistent favorite, along with bikinis, and any articles or objects that are of special significance to your intended viewer (a hat, football, jersey, guitar, etc). We also have a selection of fabrics, both sheer and solid, satins and the like as alternatives for that extra touch of glamour.

Prepare at least three different outfits, maybe get something new and surprise him with it on as you hand him the photos. Try to prepare outfits in different colors and styles to add variety to your shoot. Reds, blacks, whites and pinks are most popular, but it all depends on your style and taste. You should bring those outfits and articles of clothing that are most flattering on you because you will look best in your own clothing, including your wedding gown or just the nothings that will hide underneath.

Hair & Make-up

You can choose to do your own before arriving or at our studio if you arrive early. We also have packages that include a "makeover" at a local hair salon just prior to coming to our studio, don't be afraid to go a little wild, remember this is all about FUN and FANTASY.

I can roll back the years and even "nip and tuck" so that you look your absolute best. I will do this only with your permission and/or at your request. This editing is done in a way so you look your best while we "keep you honest." I will do as little or as much editing to them as you want. These are your boudoir pictures and I will work with you to make them everything you want. I will give advice, but you are the boss.

Getting Ready

  • Get inspired before taking your photos by checking out other boudoir portfolios, Maxim or other "magazine covers".
  • Cut out any magazine pages that show the overall desired look. I will have a better understanding of what it is you are looking for.
  • Silly as it feels, in the mirror study your body and it's curves when standing or lying in different positions. Practice your expressions as well.
  • Start pampering yourself by getting a manicure and pedicure. That polished look will enhance your final images.
  • If you normally wax I recommend doing so the day before to avoid any irritation marks for your shoot.
  • It is always best to moisturize your skin before your shoot. Use your everyday lotion to avoid a skin reaction that would show up in your photos.
  • Wear non-restrictive clothing for an hour or two before your shoot. Undergarments or tight clothing (even socks and sunglasses) tend to leave marks on the skin.

Other Items

  • Your boudoir photography session will last around 2 hours because most women get tired after posing for this amount of time. This includes the in-studio or "after the first click of the shutter" time including any outfit changes.
  • The mindset I have when taking boudoir photographs is not to take any photos that you couldn't show your best friend.
  • Be comfortable with yourself, we will talk before you bare anything to see what you want to get out of the session!
  • Let me know if there is any particular feature that your significant other loves or that makes you feel especially good about yourself or even if there is a body part that you would like me to avoid taking pictures of.
  • Bring a friend along that can help you feel comfortable, safe and make sure "nothing is hanging out." They can also help you with advice on your outfit, makeup and hair.
  • Some women feel a glass of wine or champagne before hand helps them loosen up for the shoot. If you agree, PLEASE, just make sure you're not driving!

Boudior Sessions are available for Women Only.
